Trying to invent a random business idea usually results in something that nobody wants to buy.Many ideas sound good but if nobody is willing to pay for it, you will spend time and money on something that can never be successful.The Idea List exists to help you find real business problems.We analyze reddit to identify candidate subreddits, and search these subreddits for indicators of potential business problems. These are curated based on our decades of business experience.Here's an example:
Freight brokers experience challenges in finding reliable carriers to handle their loads. This includes issues with cancellations, lack of sufficient qualified carriers, and maintaining a dependable carrier network.

The Idea List itself was created to solve a real problem for entrepreneurs: finding a place to start. If you're reading this, it's likely you have this problem too.We use a variety of data science methods to search data sources for indicators of business issues.We started with reddit as it has a wide variety of moderated discussions on professional topics, and we use it in our own professional lives.We're working on adding other data sources in addition to reddit, as well as other tools to help entrepreneurs find potential business opportunities.
About The Team
We are a team of two good friends:Sid, a data scientist in Norway, with a PhD in neuroscience and a decade working in financial services, enterprise technology & data innovation.Liam, a software engineer turned businessman in the UK, with experience in B2B sales & marketing and "intrapreneurship" in a corporate environment.We don't have professional headshots yet - stay tuned.
